  1. I think technology can help the students gain a better understanding of the concepts being taught and see how they apply to the real world. If they understand where they can use the concepts being taught, the concepts may make more sense to them. The age old question in mathematics is "Where do we ever use this?"

  2. Technology supports student learning by making research easier and quicker. When creating a work product, the use of technology is a 21st century way of creating presentation. It also makes the activity more "hands-on".

  3. Technology can most definately be used effectively in the classroom! Once students are taught the procedures of research, writing documents, creating power points, etc.. the world is wide open to them to explore and create amazing products. Technology engages the students and motivates them to find and display information in new and exciting ways.

The students can also be assessed using technology. Online tests, surveys, interest inventories allow them to log on nad record info quickly without using paper and pencil. Teachers can look at results, compile data and monitor student progress. Student created products can be stored, assessed, and used as future models and so forth.

  4. 1. Technology is very important today. As a teacher I will use technology in my classroom to enhance learning. However, technology will not be part of all my lessons. If used inappropriately, it could have bad effects. Technology must be rationalized and monitored to be effective. I will try to use technology to engage students and make class more fun. I will constantly evaluate myself and the application of technology to improve my class.

  5. I am so used to giving paper/pencil tests. This module has shown me another way of assessing through technology. I'm not sure how much exposure my ESE students have received (powerpoint) but this is one area I want to discuss with their teachers. I will be co-teaching next year and plan to have my students more active in using technology to create projects.
